LOVE IS....

If the brother says he loves you, he wouldn't ask for a piece of your body before marriage. If he says he loves you, he won't pressurize you into doing things that doesn't please God. If he says he loves you, he will wait until you get confirmations from your creator; his God. Indeed, if he says he loves you, he'll wait for you. 
If she loves you, she'll be patient with you. She'll stand by you through the thick and thin that life throws at us. If she loves you, she won't compare you to the other men outside. If she loves you, she won't seek her own but yours.

The many things we call love today is actually far from what it really is. Love isn't envious, infact I think that the moment you begin to be green with envy towards him/her, you've stepped out of love. Love doesn't get angry easily, this implies that love wouldn't seek to hurt you with words because he/she is angry. However "open rebuke is better than secret love". A person who loves you cares about your spiritual life and he/she will correct you in love....he/she doesn't seek to bring you down with words but pulls you up with love and in love. Love isn't proud; love doesn't seek to promote himself. Love is giving; if he/she claims to love you, then stinginess shouldn't be the order of the day (be watchful of deceptive gifts). 

Finally, SOS 8:7 and 1peter4:8 says "many waters cannot quench love; love covereth multitude of sin" implies that no matter your wrongs, the person loves you still (if we love like Christ does, then this is feasible). It means that inspite of your past, the person appreciates you still. It means that inspite of everything, whether good or bad, you're still loved. In the midst of misunderstandings and disagreements, he/she remains there not calling it off.

When you utter the phrase 'I LOVE YOU', do understand that it transcends what you feel at that point.
