"Roots make all the difference in the health of a plant and their presence or absence becomes evident to all. The plant either flourishes or fails, thrives or dies, blossom or withers. The health of anything, be it a garden or a heart devoted to God reflects what is going on (or not going on!) Underground".
The roots are usually unseen! As Christians, beyond the green leaves and prosperous deeds(service to God) we see on the outside, what determines the longevity of such deeds is our private life with God. That is the part no one else but you and God sees. Developing the inward man transcends the works we do outwardly!
Roots also serve as a storage of nutrients! Let's learn as Christians to store up heavenly treasures through constant fellowship with God which would be as a support to us in times of trials. Such that no matter the fierce wind that blows at us, we stand firm supported by our roots through reaching inwards.
While we go about doing goodly deeds for the Lord, let's not forget that when there are no roots, it will be a matter of time before the leaves will be all dried up.
If we're yet to cultivate a deep fellowship with the Lord, let's start by coming up with a feasible time-frame that works for us to get closer to the Lord. A time you know you won't be disturbed! Also make your time with God interesting by incorporating things like worship, messages or simple reflection/meditation that won't make you doze off but receive from the throne of grace. May God give us the grace to apply our hearts to wisdom....Amen. Remain Blessed!!!
