WHAT WORKS FOR YOU?

When a passage of the bible is called out in church by the officiating minister, some people first open their bibles before they jot down while some jot down the verse before they open their bibles. It could be that the one who jots down first doesn't want to forget the quotation while the other person may want to first read(understand) the passage before jotting down.

As a student, what works for you? How do you study and understand? If your friends can study. In a minutes and grab it without jotting and it works well for them, it doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you too. Don't follow the bandwagons; find out the best way of studying that suites you and stick to it. If studying in a quiet place will improve assimilation and retention speed, then do so. If you have to study over and over again before it sticks, then do so too.

In all these, make sure that God is incorporated into whatever study pattern you choose to adopt. 'Study to show thyself approved....(2tim2:15).' Imbibe good study habits and God will crown your efforts with good success in Jesus' Name....Amen. Remain Blessed!!!

  1. Hmmn...I like to open the bible first, but sometimes, I get the reference mixed up. So I changed strategy - write the reference down first then open and read.

For studies, I agree with all you said. But to add to that, I think an evaluation of the results of any chosen strategy is also necessary. Sometimes, its good to pause, ponder then progress.

Good write-up, Ayo! bless you! Cheers
