Ever wondered why despite the news being cast on TV/radio, we still do have newspapers?
Its one thing to hear from God, Its another to remember later and apply what's He's said. And how can this be made possible if we fail to 'write the vision and make it plain, that they may run that read it.' The reason you can refer back to what your teacher taught you in your second year during undergrad, was because you made notes. The reason we can refer to the 10 commandments is because it was written down. What you hear in class might not be sufficient enough to have high grades in an exam relative to when you have lecture notes. Examinations are like the tough times we face in life, what adequately prepares us to overcome is the written word that God through His Holy Spirit has whispered in our ears/hearts.
Writing all that we perceive God is telling us, will help us go a long way. These are precious words to us personally that serve as a form of encouragement. Its also not enough to have that great idea, pen it down and allow God help you make it happen. I pray God will help us to not just write down for fancy too but apply them.
